Different work needs a different shape.
Most therapy runs on one format: the same hour, every week, in perpetuity. It’s what insurance is designed to cover, and over time it became the default for everyone. Session grew out of a practice that knew those limits firsthand, and was set up on its own to make room for what didn’t fit. So it isn’t the standard weekly hour at a higher fee. It’s a few specific kinds of care, each designed around what it’s for.
Some care takes time. Some takes focus.
Regular sessions over time, one-on-one or with couples and families. Some of our clinicians focus this work on children and parenting, or on pregnancy and early parenthood.
Defined from the start, for when you need something specific: a clear answer from an assessment, a push forward from an intensive, or a new skill from a workshop.
A practice,
not a platform.
Session isn’t a network of providers you get routed through. It’s a New York practice, and most people find us through someone they trust.
Designed by clinicians. Each clinician chooses the kinds of care they focus on and sets their own approach to it.
A clear scope from start to finish. Before anything begins, you’ll know what your care involves and how it’s meant to go.
In our rooms or from yours. Whether it’s at our offices in Park Slope and Grand Central or by telehealth, it’s your call.
